At Temple Emanuel, we celebrate our rich diversity as a reform congregation. When we join together for prayer, holiday celebrations, religious educational experiences and social gatherings, we are one community- a vibrant intergenerational family in a place where we care for and about one another.
We are newcomers and long-time members, children and adults, individuals, couples and families, multi-racial families, gender diverse people, Jews by birth and by choice, interfaith partners and their families. We live our values of cultivating an inclusive Jewish community for all through community building, religious education, and our spiritual offerings.
We are life-long learners. Our congregation is at the forefront of the Reform movement in offering educational opportunities not only for children but for families to study together, as well as for adult learning.

About Membership
About Our "Fair Share" Membership Model
Temple Emanuel uses a Fair Share Membership Model. Instead of charging every household a set amount for annual dues, we ask that each household pay a Suggested Base Membership Commitment Amount. We request that you pay more if you can, and we accept smaller amounts as your situation requires, no questions asked.
To make this Membership model work financially, we need two things from you:
- Submit a commitment amount. This is the amount you will pay to renew your membership and support your temple.
- Tell us how you will pay your commitment amount.
This year, the temple leadership has set $2500 ($209/month) as the Suggested Base Membership Commitment amount. When a majority of our members submit their commitment amount at this level or higher, it ensures we can cover our day-to-day operating expenses, care for our buildings & grounds, meet our clergy & staff salary obligations, and support our education programs.
After loving consideration, if you are unable to contribute at the Suggested Base Membership Commitment amount, please choose the Personal Commitment Level that fits your household. All levels of support entitle that household to full membership and complete member privileges in the congregation.
