Covid-19 Update, as of December 27, 2021.

The Temple Emanuel COVID-19 Recovery Task Force consults with immunologist Dr. Steve Mizel and other medical professionals to develop our safety measures in response to COVID-19. Please note the following: Starting January 7, 2022, we will require a one-time proof of full vaccination (this includes the booster)—either your CDC vaccination card or a photo of the card—or a negative rapid test taken on the day of the event. We have reinstated mask-wearing at all temple events, inside the Education Building and administrative offices, and at all outdoor events when children are present. At Services, we welcome an unlimited number of fully-vaccinated Temple Emanuel members and visitors, but please be aware that physical distancing is required indoors. Pre-registration for Services is no longer required. You will still be able to join us virtually on LiveStream.

Questions, please contact our office at 336-722-6640 or by email.

COVID-19 Recovery Task Force Update as of December 27, 2021

The Temple Emanuel COVID-19 Recovery Task Force consults with immunologist Dr. Steve Mizel and other medical professionals to develop our safety measures in response to COVID-19. Please note the following:

  • Pursuant to the governor’s and mayor’s orders, all staff, members, guests, and students must wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Starting January 7, a one-time proof of full vaccination will be required to attend services, for those over the age of 5. For contact tracing purposes, we ask that attendees write their name, date of last vaccination, and contact info on the sign-in sheet provided.
  • Those unable to be fully vaccinated may attend events and services if they present a negative rapid test taken the day of the event.
  • All children who are religious school students should be fully vaccinated by February 15, 2022, or will otherwise need to present a negative rapid test taken the day of each religious school day/event.
  • Eating indoors is currently prohibited at Temple Emanuel, regardless of vaccination status.
  • All temple-sponsored events must follow these guidelines, even if they are off-site.
  • Full vaccination (including booster) is required for employment or continued employment at Temple Emanuel.

At Services, we welcome an unlimited number of fully-vaccinated Temple Emanuel members and visitors, but please be aware that physical distancing is required indoors. In some cases, you may be asked to sign in before a Service or event for contact tracing purposes; however, pre-registration for Services is no longer required. We will continue with the “ToGoNegs” – an individually, pre-packaged snack to take home following Services. For those who do not wish to attend in-person services, you will still be able to join us virtually on LiveStream.

We continue to strike the balance between our desire to gather and the safety of our sacred community. We strongly encourage everyone who has not been vaccinated to do so, including children 5 years and older.

The accumulating clinical evidence supports the view that the Delta variant of COVID-19 has the potential to cause illness in a group of vaccinated individuals who have chronic respiratory or cardiovascular disease. We encourage vaccinated temple members with such conditions to speak with their doctor about attending Temple Emanuel activities. Click here to read a document Dr. Mizel shared to explain the importance of the vaccine with respect to the Delta variant.
