Our Lifelong Learning programming at Temple Emanuel is continuously growing and expanding!  We are always in the process of creating new experiences for our adult learners, and we are planning some exciting upcoming programs for the 2019-20 season.

Visiting Scholar and Friend – Rabbi Tamir Nir from Jerusalem

We are thrilled to welcome Rabbi Tamir Nir back to Temple Emanuel and North Carolina.  He is the spiritual leader of Kehilat Achva B’Kerem, a member congregation within the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism (IMPJ)

9:00 AM Nature Walk at Pilot Mountain State Park

11:30 AM Kiddush Lunch and Talk with Rabbi Tamir Nir

Topic: How will Israel vote THIS time!? Israel in search of its Jewish soul. As Israel balances a huge range of interests: from ultra-Orthodox who insist on gender-segregated buses to a majority population that has helped create Tel Aviv as the most welcoming city in the world for the LGBTQ community, we are witnessing huge dichotomies in the Israeli electorate. See how this upcoming election is more than meets the eye.

Where: Black Diamond Farm in Tobaccoville

Cost for Lunch: $18 per person – net proceeds will be donated to the IMPJ.  Lunch selection: spinach salad, pasta salad, egg salad, roasted salmon, rolls, drinks, and dessert.
