Who We Are

Mission & Beliefs

Temple Emanuel is the heart of Winston-Salem’s Jewish identity and activity. We welcome members from all Jewish backgrounds, as well as guests of other faiths and beliefs. As a religious, social, and educational center, we are committed to promoting and providing opportunities for Jewish-based spiritual and religious enrichment, meaningful connections to traditions and people, religious and cultural education and activities, and deepening our connection and support for Winston-Salem’s Jewish community and the broader community we call home.

urj-logo-twitter1We are officially affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism, but our actions and beliefs are inclusive, addressing and embracing a broad range of faith and community needs. We are dedicated to serving as a valuable member of our community and continually strive to enhance our position as Winston-Salem’s religious, spiritual, cultural and intellectual Jewish center and as our members’ “second Jewish home.”

Our members, young and old, comprise nearly 600 individuals who have committed themselves to assuring a Jewish place in our fine city of Winston-Salem. All ages are always welcome and we look forward to exploring Jewish life together.
