Temple Emanuel’s Sisterhood is a vital branch of our synagogue community. We’re a vibrant, dynamic group of women dedicated to contributing our time and talent to enrich the lives our congregants and the greater Jewish world as a spiritual, social and civic-minded organization. We incorporate fun at our social and educational programs, such as our annual Harvest Luncheon, book club meetings, and guest speaker events.

We help our Temple by:

  • Funding and operating the Gift Shop
  • Sending cards to temple members for life cycle events
  • Hosting the annual Break the Fast after Yom Kippur
  • Providing educational women’s programming
  • Honoring requests as needed for special events and programs for Temple Emanuel
  • Supporting the temple kitchen
  • Contributing to temple renovation and improvements
  • Encouraging youth by presenting b’nei mitzvah gifts and contributions to the religious school and preschool
  • Supporting Jewish summer programs by offering scholarships to temple member families
  • Organizing the Sisterhood Book Club
  • Fundraising through annual dues, our soup sale, gift shop sales, and New Year’s Greetings announcements
  • Providing the meal and hamentaschen each year for the temple Purim celebration along with a fun, interactive annual bake-off
